LSUHSC-Shreveport - Office for Student Affairs
INCLEMENT
WEATHER POLICY
When weather conditions render surface transportation hazardous, the Dean of
the Medical School may declare a weather emergency. A declared weather emergency
has the effect of establishing a holiday routine in the Health Sciences Center.
It cancels classes, closes nonessential offices, and reduces staffing to the
level necessary to support essential operations in the School and Hospital.
The decision to declare such an emergency rests solely with the Dean or his
designated representative. Local radio and television stations will be informed
if the Dean declares a weather emergency. Class officers will be informed through
the President of the Student Executive Council (who confirms the action with
the Dean for Student Affairs). The class officers communicate this information
to all members of their class..
