Welcome
Imaging sciences have been continuously evolving since the discovery of X-rays by Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen in 1895. An extraordinary technological leap forward is anticipated in the next few years that will improve, simplify and make commonplace different imaging modalities. Advances in imaging conceived and initiated at the turn of the millennium such as 3-D imaging, tissue characterization, etc, are no longer in their seminal stage but gaining substantial clinical experience. In many instances, invasive diagnosis techniques are being replaced by accurate and safe non-invasive imaging studies. Furthermore, imaging techniques for diagnostic studies and guidance of minimally invasiveinterventions have expanded to non-radiologists. This multidisciplinary interest bolsters additional research and development to simplify imaging methods as well as make it safer. |
