PROJECT COORDINATOR/MANAGER WORK LOCATION: Office of Facilities Planning, Baton Rouge, LouisianaPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties will include organize, coordinate and direct (with supervision) multiple construction projects. Ensure timely and effective communication with the project team (designers, supervisor, etc.) on important matters. In addition, maintain and update project list, coordinate and develop addenda, change orders, time extension, etc. for multiple facility construction projects such as laboratory and office buildings, irrigation and drainage systems, excavations and land development, utility systems, etc. throughout the State. Additional duties may include coordination of initial project investigation, project estimation, design and plan development (with supervision) utilizing AutoCAD to aid team in developing, organizing and producing detailed plans and specifications for construction, renovation and maintenance projects. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. Other degrees may qualify if combined with significant closely related course work or related job experience. Minimum of three years of project management related experience required. Design experience desirable. Knowledge of surveying, AutoCAD, and plan development beneficial. SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Northeast Texas Community CollegeApplications invited for the position of Director of Physical Plant Services NTCC began teaching students in 1985 on its main campus located in a beautiful wooded and rural setting. The College district includes the contiguous counties of Camp, Morris, and Titus. The plant has grown to include five outreach centers located throughout the district as well as additional facilities on the main campus. The College’s acreage has grown from 126 to over 400. Twenty-four buildings on the main campus are dedicated to classrooms, laboratories, offices, an indoor firing range, learning resources, residence halls, agriculture and rodeo barns, plant services, athletics, and creative and performing arts. Other facilities include two softball fields, a baseball field and stadium, a rodeo arena, three tennis courts, a criminal justice driving pad, and an agriculture research and demonstration farm. The main campus is served by a fresh water well and backup system as well as a self-contained waste water system. Other facilities such as a livestock pavilion, greenhouse, agriculture classroom/laboratory, indoor swimming pool, wellness center, soccer field, and outdoor recreation facilities are in the planning and design stage. The College serves over 2,500 credit students during a semester and from 5,000 to 7,000 non-credit students during a calendar year in continuing education, outreach services, and customized workplace courses. University-bound students have a full range of quality course offerings taught by an award-winning faculty with university credentials and a community college philosophy. Workforce education and allied health programs provide students with good, high paying jobs. Students can participate in over 31 clubs and organizations, athletics, intramurals, a film series, art exhibits, and many world-class musical and theatrical performances in the 580 seat Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. Through partnerships with Texas A&M University-Texarkana, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and The University of Texas at Tyler, students can complete a bachelor’s degree in Education, including mathematics, science, special education, and early childhood education, Nursing, and Social Work, while attending classes on the NTCC main campus and its outreach centers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide overall physical plant leadership for one of America’s most comprehensive and vast rural community college settings. Maximize the potential contribution of a 21 person staff in fulfilling the custodial, maintenance, renovation, and construction functions of an 80 acre main campus with over 33 individual facilities. Integrate these functions into the operation of two relatively new outreach centers and three smaller and older outreach facilities. Lead the College in providing a safe environment for students and employees. Maintain residence for self and family in the College house on campus. An excellent K-12 school district adjoins the College’s facilities. Adopt the College cats who presently live on the grounds of the College house and the Physical Plant Building -- Wrinkles, Callie, and Allie. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering, or a closely related field required. Ten years of broad, applicable experience in an increasingly complex physical plant required. The ability to communicate effectively, with diverse groups required. Organizational aptitude required. Good leadership qualities essential. Knowledge of State of Texas certification requirements for fresh water, waste water, and air conditioning. SALARY: Salary based on education and experience.
