YOU’VE GOT MAIL!!
Would you like to be notified when you get an e-mail message and when your
e-mail message was delivered and read? How would you like to hear when you receive
an e-mail message? All of these tasks are simple to do.
Notification, Read, Delivery, & Sound of an E-Mail Message
Note: The below instructions are for Microsoft Outlook 97.
- Double-click on Microsoft Outlook.
- Click on the Tools
button on the menu bar.
- A drop down menu will appear. Choose Options and the following
box will appear.

- Click on the E-mail tab.
- Under the heading When new items arrive, select Play a sound
and Display a notification message and a check will appear
beside the boxes.
- Under the heading Settings for automatic processing of mail,
select Processdelivery, read, and recall receipts on arrival
and Process requests and responses on arrival
and a check will appear in the boxes.
- Click Apply and OK.
The Sound of New Mail
Arriving
- Click on Start\Settings\Control
Panel. The following box will appear. Scroll down until you see Sound.


- Double-click on Sound
and you will get the following box called Sound Properties.
- Under Events,
scroll down until you find New Mail Notification and highlight.
- Under Sound,
there are several options of sound you can choose from. You can also listen
to what you chose by clicking on the Arrow button beside the picture under
Preview.
- Click Apply
and OK.
