Accessing Invision Using TCP3270

Now that you have the program installed, how do you go about getting to the Invision logon screen?  Follow these basic steps.

  1. At the Windows Desktop, click START --> Programs --> Internet Tools --> TCP3270.
  2. If you have TCP3270 on your desktop, double click the icon.
  3. Click OK at the Copyright Notice.
  4. At Open Session view, ensure the dialog box states IP Host as NOMVS.LSUHSC.EDU and the Profile has Mainframe highlighted. The type and model may differ for users, but should be noted as the defaults.
  5. Select Connect.
  6. At the Net Master Screen, enter your mainframe user ID.
  7. Tab to the password field and enter your password.
  8. Note:If you need assistance with your Net Master password, please call the Desktop Support Helpdesk at x5470, Option 2.
  9. Press ENTER after typing in your password. If this is an Initial sign on or if it is time to change your password, you will be directed to a Change Password Function screen. Enter a new password & PRESS THE TAB KEY to tab to the Verify Password line. Re-enter new password and then press enter.
  10. *REMINDER: Passwords expire every 30 days. And,you can not reuse any password used in the previous 14 months.
  11. At the command line, type "L SHSMS" (L space SHSMS, no quotes). Press ENTER.
  12. *NOTE: NODRUG (Micromedex) is accessed by entering L NODRUG
  13. Press Shift + F10 keys at the Welcome to CICS/ESA Screen.
  14. Enter INVISION Sign on and Password.
  15. For assistance with INVISION passwords or login, call the Clinical Support Helpdesk at x5470, Option 1.
  16. HINT: If you logoff and are at the logoff screen (HAVE A NICE DAY!), you can return to the logon screen for INVISION by using the SHIFT + F10.

  17. To return to the Command Line Screen, press F12 at INVISION logoff screen.
