IDXTERM TERMINAL EMULATOR SOFTWARE


If you access the Physician's Billing system, then you are probably familiar with IDX. IDX is the software application used to access this system. Should you have a need to install or re-install this software, the following instructions will guide you through the process of installation and configuration.

TO INSTALL IDX:

  1. Click Start > Find > Computer and key in SH-CSRV1 (for Windows 2000\XP, right-click on My Network Places and select Search for Computers)

  2. Double-click on SH-CSRV1 when found

  3. Double-click on the Guest folder

  4. Double-click on the Internet folder

  5. Click once on the IDX folder to highlight it

  6. Right-click (with the right mouse button) on the folder

  7. From the menu that comes up, select copy

  8. Right-click anywhere on your desktop where there is not an icon and select paste

  9. When finished, close all open Windows

  10. Right-click on the IDX folder on your desktop and choose Rename

  11. Change the name of the folder to DISK1 (all caps, no spaces)

  12. Double-click the DISK1 folder to open it

  13. Double-click the setup icon in the DISK1 directory

  14. IDXTERM Setup Warning box will appear - click on the Continue button

  15. IDXTERM Installation box will appear - click on the Continue button

  16. Destination Path Box for IDXTERM will appear- the default path is C:\IDXAPP - click the Continue button to accept the default

  17. IDXTERM Installation Checklist box will appear - make sure the Install Base… Select Communication Modes boxes are checked (X). Click on the Continue button

  18. Program Group for IDXTERM box will appear - the default group is IDX Applications - click the Continue button to accept this default

  19. Communication Mode Selection box will appear - click on the ALL button, then on the Continue button

  20. The installation will begin

  21. When finished, click OK.

After installation is complete, execute IDXTERM. If the install process did not create an icon for IDXTERM, you will need to look in the IDXAPP folder created in Step 16 and create a shortcut using the IDXTERM.EXE file (right-click the idxterm.exe file and select the Send To Desktop create shortcut option from the menu).

TO ACCESS IDX:

  1. Double click the IDX icon on your desktop

  2. Click the Connect option from your top menu bar

  3. Click on the Host option

  4. Click the Winsock option from the Communications Mode box and click the Select button

  5. Type in the command box at the Host Name prompt and click the Select button

  6. Click edit, window size and change columns to 78 and rows to 35 for full screen
