How to Change the
Resolution in PS Desktop
(after
Citrix upgrade)
The PeopleSoft Technical
team has recently instituted a new version of the Citrix client software that
updates the Citrix Desktop on your workstation. The new version loads much
more quickly and the total time to sign onto a Citrix Desktop has been reduced. Even
better, the upgrade to the new version will be automated, requiring very little
effort from you. Unfortunately, one change that will require some effort on
your part is the screen size change that occurs with the update.
This
is what you can expect once you log onto PS Desktop:
-
The first time you start a Citrix session, you will see this message:
-
Click on the OK button.
-
A progress indicator will then appear showing the progress of the file
download.
-
When the file download is completed, this message will be displayed:
-
Click the OK button.
- That Citrix session
will close and the screen will return to your regular desktop. This message
will appear:
-
If you happened to have any old Citrix sessions (including Citrix
Program Neighborhood) open before the update began (from the previous
day, for example), then you should log off of those sessions and then
click on the OK button in the message window (above).
-
The cursor will probably turn into an hourglass briefly as the update
is completed. Then you will receive a final message:

-
When
you click on the OK button, log out of Citrix.
-
Double-click on Citrix Program Neighborhood.
- Right-click on PS
Desktop, and select Properties.
- Select the Options
Tab. Under Windows Properties, deselect, “Use Custom Default” beside Windows
Size.
- Click on the down
arrow and select 800 x 600. Click OK. Close Citrix Program Neighborhood
– Custom ICA Connection window.
Now you may start up a new Citrix session and work in it as normal. That’s
it! All of your profile information will be brought forward into the
new version, so there should be no other changes for you to experience.
Each time that you create a new Citrix session in the future, it will be
created with the new version of the software.
