Medicaid Verification
Verification of Louisiana Medicaid can be done free of charge through our access link to the Department of Health & Hospitals' Medicaid Eligibility Determinations System (MEDS). Below are the steps on how to gain access to their system:
Step 1: Acquiring the necessary software, system user ID's and passwords for access:
- For those not using
a dedicated Invision PC, McGill's TCP3270 software application will be the
way to access the DHH MEDSystem through LSUHSC's Netmaster system. If you
do not have this software installed on your computer, step-by-step instructions
are available on our web site on how to install this software onto your
system. To access those instructions, <click
here>. In addition, an LSUHSC Netmaster User ID and Password are
required. Application forms for a Netmaster User ID and Password are available
from Computer Services by calling the helpdesk line at 675-5470, menu option
#2 or coming to our office in the Medical School near Shipping and Receiving
(G414E).You may also download the Computer
Account Application form from our website.
- For a DHH User ID and
Password, complete DHH's "On-Line UserID Request Form" with your
information, and fax that completed form to Clemmer Fisher at 225-342-8635. In
addition, the form can be mailed to the following address:

If you have not heard from DSS Security regarding your User ID and Password in approximately one week following your application form submission, they can be reached at 225-342-4177 or 225-342-5273. This is the same contact number for any issues concerning your DHH User ID and Password you may experience in the future. The LSUHSC-S Desktop Support Helpdesk cannot assist you with resetting your DHH Password.

Step 2: Logging into
LSUHSC's Netmaster System:
Once you have TCP3270 installed on your computer, a Netmaster User ID
and Password, and a DHH User ID and Password, you are ready to access the
DHH MEDSystem. Open TCP3270 to the Netmaster Login Screen and log in using
your Netmaster Password and User ID. If you have problems with the Netmaster
User ID and Password, call the Desktop Support Helpdesk at x55470, menu option
2.
Step 3: Netmaster Command Prompt Menu Screen:
At the Command prompt, type "L DHHMEDS" (without quotes and
a space between L and D) to go to the DHH Customer Control System Sign-On
Screen for MEDS CICS access:
Step 4: DHH Customer Information Control System Sign-On Screen:
Enter your DHH User ID & Password: (If you experience problems with your
DHH User ID or Password, call DSS Information Security at 225-342-4177 or
225-342-5273. The LSUHSC-S Desktop Support Helpdesk cannot assist you with
resetting your DHH Password.
Step 5: DHH Main Menu - Production:
Select MSDM from the menu by placing an X in the field to the left of the
menu item and pressing the enter key.:
Step 6: Department of Health & Hospitals Medicaid Verification System

If you or your office needs training on how to input and read the MEDS
screens and codes, training can be requested by emailing dbatts@dhh.state.la.us.
In the email request, let Diane Batts know that you work for LSU Health Sciences
Center in Shreveport, your department's name, a contact telephone number and
a list of those that need the training.
