Automatically Delete Junk Messages


Are you tired of getting email from someone you don’t know and wish it could automatically be deleted? Well it can! Outlook 2000 and XP have special features that allow you to deal with Junk email that arrives in your inbox. Outlook can be set up to automatically detect junk or undesirable mail before you even lay eyes on it.

  1. Click the Organize button on the toolbar in Outlook or click on Tools

  1. Click the Junk Mail button.

  2. You are now offered different ways of dealing with Junk or Adult content mail.

  1. Once you have set up the method of dealing with the mail, you should click on Turn on to activate it.

Your junk or undesirable adult content mail will now be moved straight to the folder of your choice as soon as it arrives in your mailbox.

Add a New Sender to the Junk Senders’ List

If you receive a message from a new sender that you class as either Junk or containing adult content, then you can update Outlook's internal list of junk senders.

  1. Right click on the message in question in the main Inbox window and click on Junk Email.

  2. Now choose whether the sender belongs in the Junk or Adult list by clicking on either Add to Junk Senders list or Add to Adult Content Senders list.

  3. A message will be displayed telling you where to view the list of Junk senders. Simply click OK .

  4. Once you click on Add to Junk Senders list or Add to adult content list, the person will be added. If you add a sender by mistake, you can’t cancel this action once you have followed the above steps. However, you can delete the sender from the list. Always make sure you are clicking on the correct email when you add to these lists.

View or Edit Your List Of Junk Senders

It is possible to view and edit your personal list of Junk or Adult content senders list.

  1. Click the Organize button.

  2. Click Junk E-Mail.

  3. Click Click here at the bottom of the Organize window.

  1. Now click either Edit Junk Senders or Edit Adult Content Senders.

  1. You can click on the Add button to add in new email addresses to the list

  2. You can also edit existing email addresses by clicking on the Edit button.

  1. You can delete existing entries by selecting the email address in question and clicking on Delete.
