Pick the instructions appropriate for you operating system.
Windows 9.x/ME
Windows NT/2000/XP
Installing
TCP3270 for Windows (9.x & ME)
- For Windows 9.x
- Click Start --> Find --> Computer
For Windows ME
- Right
mouse click on Network Places --> Search for Computers
- When the Find box comes up:
For
Windows 9.x
- type sh-csrv1
in the Named field
For
Windows ME
- type
sh-csrv1 in the Computer Name field
- Click the Find Now button or click Search
Now if you have Windows ME
- Sh-csrv1 should appear in the bottom of the box with a blue
computer icon beside it.
- Double-click
on sh-csrv1 with the blue computer icon
- Double-click
the guest folder
- Double-click
the internet folder
- Double-click
the TCP3270 folder
- Double-click
the TCP3270.312 for Windows 95 folder
- Double-click
the DISK1 folder
- Double-click
the SETUP.EXE (the one with computer & disks icon)
- You should
see the Welcome to the TCP3270 setup program, Press Next.

- For Select Components, Press Next

- For Dialog Language Selection,
Make sure a check mark is in front of English and press Next

- For Host Language Selection, Make sure a check mark
is in front of English-US C370 CECP V2 and press Next

- For Default Session Setting, type in SH-MVS02.LSUHSC-S.EDU
for Default Host Gateway/IP Address. Make sure that 3270 is selected and Enable
for EHLLAPI has an X in the box. Press Next

- For Select Program Folder, TCP3270 for Windows 95
should be in program folders: Press Next

- Start copying files, Press Next

- At Setup complete, uncheck “Yes, I want to view the
readme file now.” Click Finish.

- Now, you should see the
TCP3270 for Windows 95 folder with shortcuts icons. Leave this window open.
PROCEED TO “CONFIGURE TCP3270”.

Installing TCP3270 for Windows NT\2000
- For Windows NT
- Click Start --> Find --> Computer
For Windows
2000
- Right
mouse click on Network Places --> Search for Computers
- When the Find box comes up:
For Windows
NT
- type
sh-csrv1 in the Named field
For Windows
2000
- type
sh-csrv1 in the Computer Name field
- Click the Find Now button or click Search
Now if you have Windows 2000.
- Sh-csrv1 should appear in the bottom of the box with a blue
computer icon beside it.
- Double-click on sh-csrv1 with the blue computer
icon
- Double-click the guest folder
- Double-click the internet folder
- Double-click the TCP3270 folder
- Double-click the TCP3270.312 for Windows NT
folder
- Double-click the DISK1 folder
- Double-click the SETUP.EXE (the one with computer
& disks icon)
- You should see the Welcome to the TCP3270 setup program,
Press Next.

- For Select Components, Press Next

- For Dialog Language Selection,
Make sure a check mark is in front of English and press Next

- For Host Language Selection, Make sure a check mark
is in front of English-US C370 CECP and press Next

- For Default Session Setting, Type in SH-MVS02.LSUHSC-S.EDU
for Default Host Gateway/IP Address. Make sure that 3270 is selected and Enable
for EHLLAPI has an X in the box. Press Next

- For Select Program Folder, TCP3270 for Windows NT
should be in program folders: Press Next

- Start copying files, Press Next

- At Setup complete, uncheck “Yes, I want to view the
readme file now.” Click Finish.

- Now, you should see the
TCP3270 for Windows NT folder with shortcuts icons. Leave this window open.
PROCEED TO “CONFIGURE TCP3270”.
Configure TCP3270
- Click Start --> Programs --> TCP3270 for Windows --> Tn3270. When the Connect to box appears, click the
Connect button

- Click Options in the menu bar and select Session
Profile
- For Category (on the
left side), Select General. On the right side, select Start Profile
Automatically and Click Save.

- In the box, type Mainframe and click Save
& Create Program Icon button.

- Click the Save &
Create Program button. On the next screen, scroll down to select the
TCP3270 for Windows group and the click the Create button

- Close out of TCP3270.
The window showing all the icons for the TCP3270 group should still be visible
on your desktop. Inside this folder, there should now be an icon called Mainframe.
Right-click on this icon and choose Send To à
Desktop (create shortcut). If this is not an option, then click once on the
icon to highlight it. In the menu select Edit à Copy. Right-click
anywhere on your desktop where there is not an icon or open window and select
Paste.

Close
all open windows!
