Installing Citrix on Windows


1.                  Click Start --> Find --> then Computer.  For Windows ME and 2000 machines, right-click on My Network Places and             click on Search For Computers

2.                   When the Find or Computer Name box comes up, type sh-csrv1 in the field

3.                   Click the Find Now or Search Now button  

4.                   Sh-csrv1 should appear with a blue computer screen icon beside it.

5.                   Double-click on sh-csrv1 there

6.                   Double-click the guest folder

7.                   Double-click the internet folder

8.                   Double-click the citrix folder

9.                   Double-click the ICAClients 6.2 folder

10.               Double-click the ICA32 folder

11.               Double-click the DISK1 folder

12.               Double-click the setup.exe file (it may just say setup but it will have a blue computer screen as the icon).  The Welcome             window will appear.

13.               Click Next

14.                At the Choose Destination Location window, click Next if you accept the default setting.  If you wish to change the              directory or drive letter to which the software is installed, click the Browse button and change the location.

15.                Click Next at the Select Program Folder window.

16.               At the ICA Client Name window, place your USERID in the ClientName field if not already there.  Click Next.

17.               Click OK once the installation has completed and close out of all open windows.  You will need to restart your computer.

18.               When the computer boots back up, double-click on the Citrix Program Neighborhood icon.

19.               Right-click the PSDesktop icon and choose Create Desktop Shortcut

20.               Click OK if you get an error message and follow the steps below.

If you receive an error message when attempting to create the desktop shortcut, do the following: 

            a.  Double-click the My Computer icon

            b.  Double-click the C: drive

            c.  Double-click the Windows folder

            d.  Double-click the Pnlinks folder

            e.  Right-click PSDesktop icon and choose copy

            f.  Close all open folders

            g.  On your desktop screen where all your icons are, right-click anywhere there are no icons and choose paste

To login, double-click the PSDesktop icon and login with your LSUMC-MASTER username and password.
