Installing
TCP3270
Many people need to use
the mainframe or wish to access Invision from non-Invision terminals, but do
not have the necessary program installed. In order to have the necessary tools
to access either of these systems at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport,
simply follow these easy steps.
- Click on START
- Click on FIND
- Move over and select
COMPUTER
- In the Named:
box, type in SH-CSRV1 and click Find Now
- Double click on SH-CSRV1
in the lower window when it is found
- Double click on the GUEST
folder
- Double click on the INTERNET
folder
- Double click on the NETTOOLS.31
folder
- Double click on SETUP.EXE
(if you can't see the EXE extension, then choose the setup with a blue computer
icon next to it)
- Internet Tools Release
3.1 will appear, Click on INSTALL
- Click in the box next
to "Time & Attendance" to make an X in the box.
- Click on the + (blue
plus) next to "Internet Tools" to expand the list.
- Click in the box next
to each of the following to remove the X :
- WS_Archie
- WS_Finger
- Free Agent
- WS_FTP
- WS_Gopher
- Netscape
- NS-Lookup
- WS_Ping
- Wincode
- Description Files
- Click OK
- You should be at the
Enter Directory. Click OK to accept the default C:\nettools.
- Click OK to accept the
default group Internet Tools 3.1
- After it is finished
installing, it will ask you to restart your computer. Click Don’t Restart.
- Close all open Windows.
