Notice of Institution Change
Under the direction of the LSUHSC Administration, the LSUHSC-S Institutional Review Board (IRB) is currently pursuing accreditation by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP®). This accreditation is considered the “new standard” by which university IRBs function for the protection of human subjects, universities and investigators. With this accreditation, the administration of the Institutional Review Board will now be part of the LSUHSC-S Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).
We are in the process of establishing an HRPP website that will serve as the perfect source for all your informational needs regarding the LSUHSC-S Institutional Review Board and all facets of the LSUHSC-S HRPP. Until this website is available, please contact Donna Singleton (DSingl1@lsuhsc.edu) or Jennifer Toups (jtoup1@lsuhsc.edu) with IRB questions and concerns.
We will notify research faculty and staff when the website is available.

The Institutional
Review Board for Human Research (IRB) is responsible for reviewing,
approving, and overseeing all human-related research performed at
LSUHSC, and it's affiliates.

Calendar for all LSUHSC-Shreveport Assurance Committees - excluding IRB
| Clinical Research Faculty and Staff:
Effective January, 2008, LSUHSC-S has a NEW LSUHSC-Shreveport
IRB Fee Schedule and payment terms. These fees and terms have been
approved by Dr. McDonald. Please ensure that this language is incorporated
in all sponsored clinical trial research agreements as defined below:
Sponsored Research for the IRB Fee Schedule:
- ALL industry-sponsored protocols
Excluded Research from the IRB Fee Schedule:
- Protocols sponsored by Federal, State, County, Local, and public funds.
- Protocols sponsored by internally funded grants.
- Protocols approved by LSUHSC-S IRB PRIOR to the effective date of this approved IRB Fee Schedule; however, contracts/grants that are currently being negotiated with the sponsor or funding agencies are subject to conditions of this IRB Fee Schedule.
- Protocols funded by Foundations and other similar organizations that do not allow such expenses.

If you have any questions you may contact the IRB Office. We will be glad to
discuss these fees and language with you.
The fees are mandatory and will be applied for all new sponsor supported research projects
approved after January 1, 2008.
