WebEd for this year will be devoted to JCAHO preparedness.
The Bulletin Board in the department's hallway will be used as a resource to complete the assignment each month.
JCAHO will come unannounced this year (anytime between January and December) and will be using the "Tracer Methodology" for surveying.
You may be interviewed by a surveyor with the nurse, case manager, and/or physician in your area. The surveyors like to see how our charting reflects the care given to the patient. How our charting is per policy of our hospital and department.
I have pointed out the HOT SPOTS that JCAHO are going to pursue while here on campus. Know our role and how our department is addressing and complying with the standards and safety goals. The bulletin board will be used to educate our roles and department specific matters associated with the HOT SPOTS.
The hospital will be performing MOCK SURVEYS throughout the year. On any given Friday, there will be some manager(s) performing "walk-throughs" and "mini surveys". I will also post any deficiencies discovered on the bulletin board so we can improve in those areas.
