About:
Lee Bairnsfather, Ph.D., is Chairman of the Department of Bioinformatics
and Computational Biology and is Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Information
Technology for LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in Shreveport. In his
role as Assistant Vice-Chancellor, he serves as the Chief Information
Officer for the University Hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe and for
the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health Professions, and Graduate Studies.
He also has appointments as Adjunct Professor in Radiology and in the
Library Departments of LSUHSC’s New Orleans and Shreveport campuses.
In 1995, he was the statewide Director of IAIMS Planning for the six professional
schools and ten public hospitals of the Health Sciences Center. His areas
of research include high-speed networks, interactive video technologies
for education, and medical informatics. |
