Internal Medicine - Pediatrics Home Page

Welcome to the LSUHSC-Shreveport Med-Peds Program Home Page, and thank you for your interest! The Medicine-Pediatrics Residency offers a four-year residency, consisting of twenty-four months on each service. Upon successful completion of these four years, graduates are eligible to take the certifying examinations for both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. This allows numerous career options, and our residents have followed a wide variety of paths after completion of the program.

On this web site, you will find an outline of the residency rotations for the four year program. Graduates are exposed to both Medicine and Pediatrics within the first four months of training. After the intern year, residents have the opportunity to coordinate their own training and selection of electives, thus providing a tailored schedule to facilitate each resident's chosen career path.

You will also find liks to informative sites about our medical center and training facilities, house office benefits, and information on Shreveport, Louisiana. Links to other informative Med-Peds web sites should be helpful to the graduate who is wanting to know more about the Med-Peds concept.

This program participates in the National Residency Match Program. If you are interested in visiting us for an interview, please submit your application through ERAS.

Thank you again for your interest! Please contact me at the numbers or email below if you have further questions.

Sincerely
Pat F. (Ricky) Bass, M.D.
