When is New Employee Orientation held?

New Employee Orientation (NEO) is held, as a general rule, every other Monday. See the NEO Schedule for exact dates.

How are employees scheduled for NEO?

New employees are given a date to attend NEO when they process their paperwork in Hiring. Employee should not attend NEO before they have completed their paperwork and have been scheduled by the HRM Hiring staff or the Nursing Recruiter.

Who attends NEO?

All employees of LSUHSC-S should attend NEO within the first thirty (30) days of being hired. After an employee has been here a year, they will attend Campus Education Day.

Should I clock-in before I attend NEO?

Yes. The day you attend NEO is just like any other work day. If you forget to clock-in, your supervisor can show you how to complete a Time & Attendance (TACS) adjustment form.

What should I bring to NEO?

We suggest you bring a pen with you so that you can complete the paperwork you will receive at NEO. If you are eligible for benefits, bring with you the packet of benefits information you were given. You will be given an information packet when you arrive.

Who is eligible for Benefits?

Employees who are full-time employees or are employed at more than 75% effort are eligible for LSUHSC-S benefits.

Do student workers attend NEO?

Orientation for student workers is held twice during the summer. Student workers employed at LSUHSC-S during the academic year should attend NEO as soon as possible after being hired. Those student workers who cannot be scheduled due to a class conflict should advise their supervisor as soon as possible.
