MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Eligibility for employment as a Student Worker requires the individual to be a minimum age of sixteen (16) and enrolled in an accredited high school, junior college, college or university, or a vocational-technical school operated by the State of Louisiana in a full-time status. Full-time status is determined by the institution in which the student is enrolled and must be verified by the Office of the Registrar with an affixed seal. (Substitution: Full-time status verified by the Office of the Registrar on official letterhead including the affixed seal), be sure to submit with the completed application. If an undergraduate student is in his last semester, any amount of credit hours are acceptable.

Student worker positions are available throughout the LSUHSC-S campus. Student applications are kept on file for department managers to view. [These files are purged each year in January and October.]

Transfer applicants must be in your current position 3 months.

STUDENT APPLICATION PROCESS

1. To apply for a student worker position, fill out a Student application and submit it to the LSUHSC-S Human Resource Management Department.

Applications may be:

  • submitted in person (Room 123, Allied Health Building, King's Hwy Entrance, 8:30am - 4:00pm)
  • submitted by U. S. Mail

2. Fax a resume to the responsible person listed in the announcement. Also be sure to reference the request number listed in the announcement.

    A STUDENT APPLICATION WITH PROPER VERIFICATION MUST BE ON FILE IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT BEFORE SUBMITTING A RESUME TO THE HIRING DEPARTMENT.

Human Resource Management will notify the applicant of choice for each vacancy.
