Guidelines published by the federally appointed Equal
Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) to ensure uniform
Employee Selection Procedures for all job applicants.
Also included in the context of EEOC at LSUHSC-S is the Affirmative
Action Plan (AAP) which relates not only to employment, but
ensures that no qualified person shall be subjected to discrimination
under any University Program or activity.
Every effort must be made to ensure that all selection instruments used
(i.e. interview, individual items on applications forms,paper
and pencil tests, etc.) are directly related to successful job performance
of the job in question.
EEOC is based on Civil Rights Laws that:
Bar
employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender
and national origin;
Bar wage differentials based on gender;
Bar age-based employment practices against persons 40 years of age
and over.
